On Monday 5/21 I will begin my Raw Vegan Challenge. I have been a vegan since the beginning of November. At least 75% of my meals have been raw (with the exception of christmas break where I enjoyed plenty of delicious vegan dishes that weren't raw), but I want to completely rid of all the cravings I have been getting since winter break.

My raw vegan challenge will make me focus on eating not only vegan, but the most nutrient dense and valuable foods. The biggest mistake vegans make (which is what lead people to believe vegans are malnourished and are ignorant for choosing the lifestyle), is that they don't understand what to eat to ensure they are getting all the nutrients they need. Since doing a ridiculous amount of research to ensure I was getting everything I needed when I made the switch (since I am a gym rat and would never want to harm my muscles), I have learned about the enormous benefit of a raw lifestyle. To be considered raw you only need to eat 75% of your meals raw, but to completely change my mentality (since I am still fairly newly vegan) eating 100% raw for 100 days will create habits that will be strongly instilled.

So join me on my challenge. I will be updating this blog with posts about my journey to be a vegan as well as my progress through the raw challenge. I will also post vital information for athletes including essential nutrients to make muscles as efficient as possible. I will also post fitness challenges and work outs. So take on the challenge!
